Cobra Kai Greenlit for Season 4, Season 3 Will Premiere January 8, 2021

Last week saw Cobra Kai finally drop from the Netflix top 10 list. It was in that list for enough time to inspire Netflix to greenlight a fourth season.

The third season is already in the can, awaiting a release date “early in 2021” up until this announcement with a specific date.

Following the big launch of Cobra Kai‘s first two seasons on Netflix, the streamer has renewed the series for a fourth season. The pickup for the series continuation of the iconic The Karate Kid film franchise from Sony Pictures Television, comes ahead of the premiere of Season 3, which has been set for January 8, 2021.

‘Cobra Kai’ Renewed For Season 4 By Netflix, Season 3 Premiere Date – Deadline

Have already written about loving this TV series (see: all our Cobra Kai coverage). From our standpoint, anyway, it’s an almost perfect way to resurrect, continue and respect an 80s classic movie. Here’s the teaser video:

Season 2 ended on a pretty significant cliffhanger. Won’t spoil what that is, but certainly those unfinished storylines need to be — and probably are — resolved in Season 3.

I see a bloody-faced John Kriese in that teaser video. Oh yeah, bring it on! Can hardly wait.

On Cobra Kai Johnny Lawrence drinks alone with Coors Banquet, “…yeah, with nobody else!”

Product placement in Cobra Kai for Coors Banquet beer

In Cobra Kai, there’s some effective product placement with Coors Banquet beer as Johnny Lawrence’ (Billy Zapka) favorite alcoholic beverage.

“I haven’t really drank a Coors Banquet on the set, because all of that’s water and iced tea, so I can’t totally vouch for it yet,” he said. “But the bottles look cool, man.” “I should be getting paid by Coors for all of this,” Zabka said.

The TV show Cobra Kai often has 80s rock music playing, and they missed a great opportunity to license “I drink alone” by George Thorogood and The Destroyers when Johnny Lawrence is hitting the skids.

Other music featured in the series includes Boston (“Don’t Look Back”), Ratt (“Round and Round”), REO Speedwagon (“Take It On The Run”) and more.

Cobra Kai, seasons 1 & 2 is available for streaming on Netflix. Season 3 will be released at some point in 2021.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues Videogame Coming in October

Have you watched Cobra Kai [FIRST LOOK] on Netflix yet?

If you like the original Karate Kid movie, it’s about as good as you can get without Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) in the cast. I mean, Johnny Lawrence and Daniel Larusso 34 years later still having a grudge? We’ve now seen the first two seasons and, yes, we definitely recommend binging this ASAP.

Video games based on movies and TV shows are usually garbage, but this one looks like and old school 2D brawler and seems to be following the TV show first two seasons pretty closely from the trailer below.

Titled ‘Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues’, the game is a side-scrolling brawler based on the show (which launched on Netflix recently, having previously been available on YouTube), featuring RPG-style progression, 2-player co-op, and a cast of characters from the excellent Cobra Kai TV series.

Check out the trailer:

I don’t play many videogames, but I’ve always like 2D fighters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game was a 4-player 2D fighter and I plunked more than a few quarters into that.

The company Arcade 1UP has been making some awesome 3/4 size arcade cabinets and selling through retailers like Best Buy and Amazon for $450. Some come with special game stools for another $80. There are included risers that make it full size as well. Assembly is required but it sounds like it’s not too intense, taking a couple hours to put together.

The TMNT cabinet looks just like the arcade. You can quickly find these for purchase by searching for Arcade1UP at BestBuy.com, Amazon and other retailers.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues will be available for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2020.

FIRST LOOK: Cobra Kai (TV Series) – Netflix

YouTube Red was the name of Google’s premium video service. They produced one TV series that had a ton of internet buzz.

It was the continuation of what happened to the Karate Kid characters, Daniel Larusso, Johnny Lawrence and the Cobra Kai dojo.

Decades after their 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament bout, a middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence find themselves martial-arts rivals again.
