100 Reviews Milestone – Top 10 Lists

100 reviews so far, here are the top 10 films watched since starting reviewing

(This is a snapshot in time post. It will be fresh when it was first posted, but over time will become less accurate)

Please keep in mind that these are not my picks for top 10 films of all time, that list will take a long, long time to work out, since I’ve seen thousands of movies in my 50+ years. You can see here all reviews at Letterboxd.ranked by review rating.

How many movies? I don’t even know. I started this tracking on August 12, 2019 less than two months later — 47 days to be precise as of this writing — I’m only 100 movies in.

Some of the 100 movies seen in the first and last 47 days since starting as a reviewer

100 / 47 = about 2 movies per day pace. If I am able to average — and no idea if this is even possible or sustainable — 2 movies per day every day for 365 days, that is 830 movies reviewed per year. Still a lot of movies every year going forward if this pace is maintained. Again, no idea if that’s realistic. Maybe I run out of gas two months or two years from now lol.

It’s going to take years, perhaps 5-10+ years to track down every movie I’ve ever seen and rewatch most or all of them and write reviews, if that goal is even possible. Some movies I may ultimately have to go off of memory. If I should ever do that, I’ll disclose, but we’re not there yet by any stretch.

So, if we accept all that, then here are the top 10 rewatched movies by rating of the first 100 reviewed in the last 47 days since all of this started:

Rewatched Top Rated/Reviewed in the last 47 days:

  1. Airplane! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  2. The Dead Zone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  3. Eight Men Out ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  4. Rocky ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½
  5. Rambo: First Blood ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½
  6. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½
  7. Stand By Me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  8. The Karate Kid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  9. Rocky II ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  10. Dumb And Dumber ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

NOTE: I doubt whenever I check the next milestone — 250 movies reviewed perhaps, maybe 1,000 movies, what do you think? — that there will be three movies starring Sylvester Stallone featured in my top 10 of all time rewatched. It’s only that way here because I tried to rewatch Stallone movies to preparation for Rambo: Last Blood.

I’ve been rewatching movies based on new movies coming out, as that reminds me what I liked/disliked about certain actors and franchises. I also doubt there will be any 4-star movies listed, they will likely be all 5-star movies and then I’ll have to rank within the 5-star movies at some point asking myself, was X more entertaining and enjoyable than Y? Those will be be fun times!

2019 MOVIES
Here are the top 10 new movies out of 26 total (25 through Regal Cinemas, 1 elsewhere) seen in theater the last 47 days:

  1. JUDY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  2. The Art of Racing In The Rain ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  3. Rambo: Last Blood ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ½
  4. The Peanut Butter Falcon ⭐️⭐️⭐️½
  5. Brian Banks ⭐️⭐️⭐️½
  6. Overcomer ⭐️⭐️⭐️½
  7. Downton Abbey ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  8. Villains ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  9. Bennett’s War ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  10. Dora and The Lost City Of Gold ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Again, this list is also skewed since I didn’t include any movies prior to August 12, 2019. I’ve seen other movies throughout 2019 in the theater that I would rank in this list knocking off movies like the bottom three, but I’ve chosen to keep the lists based only since I started reviewing on Letterboxd and, a little later in the process, this blog.

I will create new posts like this at future milestones.

Again, open to reader suggestions of what milestones would make the most sense (250, 500, 1000 reviews?) in the comments. Obviously, the more reviews, the more accurate these top lists will become. As always, your comments below are welcome and encouraged. We enjoy talking about movies!
